Pepe Oriola set the fastest lap once again in today’s second Practice session at Singapore, however Gianni Morbidelli posted the second fastest time, only three tenths behind.
Practice 2 started only 25 minutes after the end of Practice 1 and all drivers improved their performance as they get more used to the Marina Bay street circuit. Stefano Comini posted an impressive 2:27.589 on his first lap out of the pits, however Pepe Oriola responded quickly setting a new fastest lap of 2:27.223 that was not to be beaten.
Halfway through the session, Gianni Morbidelli moved up to second place with a lap of 2:27.564.
Behind the top three, a small bunch of drivers was stealing fourth place from each other. Eventually Jordi Gené was fourth fastest (2:27.635) ahead of Kevin Gleason (2:27.799) and Mikhail Grachev (2:27.956).
Sergey Afanasyev, Lorenzo Veglia, René Münnich and Loris Hezemans filled the positions from 7th to 10th, while Frank Yu topped the TCR Asia field in 12th place.
Kenneth Ma’s Ford Focus stopped along the track due to a technical failure.
TCR competitors will be back in action tomorrow at 15.45, local time for the Qualifying session.
