WestCoast Racing’s drivers topped the TCR Free Practice in Shanghai once again. After Gianni Morbidelli and René Münnich had posted the best laps in the morning’s first session, Kevin Gleason was fastest in the second Practice ahead of Münnich.
Pepe Oriola led the field in the first half of the twenty-minute Practice 2, improving from 2:19.686 to 2:18.584 and eventually to 2:18.538.
However, Gleason’s Honda Civic set the fastest lap for good at 2:18.046 and in the dying moments Münnich (2:18.465) and Andrea Belicchi (2:18.504) climbed to second and third respectively, demoting Oriola to fourth.
Morbidelli – the fastest in Practice 1 – ranked fifth (2:18.750), with the Audi TT cars of Mikhail Grachev (2:18.807) and Franz Engstler (2:19.076) in sixth and seventh positions respectively. Stefano Comini (2:19.241) and Lorenzo Veglia (2:19.456) rounded out the top ten.
TCR drivers will return to action tomorrow morning at 9.45 local time for the Qualifying session; Race 1 will follow at 13.25.
