Former Formula 3 and Formula 2 driver Piero Necchi will share the car with his son in the next TCR DSG Endurance round at Mugello, October 5th and 6th.
The 67-year old Necchi was a regular competitor in Formula 3 and Formula 2 European championships between 1976 and 1982. He returned to racing 25 years later in the Italian Touring Car Endurance Championship in which was crowned champion in 2011 at the wheel of a BMW M3. In the following years he focused on GT competition, driving Ferrari, Corvette and Lamborghini cars.
At Mugello, his first appearance in a TCR car, he will share an Audi RS 3 LMS run by the Team Tecni Engines with his 20-year old son Edoardo who has only one race under his belly, the 2018 Adria 24 hours.
