Speedy Motorsport’s Pedro Salvador scored another victory at Vila Real in TCR Portugal’s round four. Just like in yesterday’s Race 1, Salvador started well from the pole position in his Cupra, managed to maintain the lead after a safety car intervention and then bade farewell to rest of the company.
Francisco Carvalho cruised to the second position in the Veloso Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS, while Francisco Abreu drove the Sports & You Peugeot 308 to the third place.
The race was neutralized by the safety car during the opening lap, for recovering José Cautela’s Team Novadriver Volkswagen Golf GTI that had crashed.
At the restart Salvador pulled away from Carvalho and the Speedy Motorsport Audi of Gustavo Moura. The latter was chased by Abreu and Manuel Gião’s KIA c’eed. On lap 8, Moura spun, which offered Abreu and Gião the opportunity to move up to third and fourth respectively.
Salvador has further increased his leading margin in the standings to 29 points, ahead of the pairing of Lobato-Abreu, as Carvalho has moved to third a further six points adrift.
TCR Portugal will resume at Estoril on September 1st and 2nd.
