Brazilian team Onze Motorsports confirmed its programme to race next year in the inaugural season of the TCR South America championship.
The team that claimed race wins and titles in the Brazilian Campeonato de Marcas between 2015 and 2017, will run one Audi RS 3 LMS that was previously raced in TCR Scandinavia by Brink Motorsport.
“I have been following TCR competition since 2015 when it started with the International Series. In the latest years, the category has grown up very well. We have chosen to race the Audi, because it proved to be one of the most competitive amongst the many models that have been homologated in TCR,” said team principal and driver Flavio ‘Noño’ Figueiredo.
After clinching titles in the Nineties in the Brazilian Formula One and Stock Car Light series, the 49-year-old Figueiredo was a title contender and a race winner in the South American Superturismo championship between 1997 and 1999; more recently he has been champion in the 2016 Campeonato de Marcas and was runner up the year after.
