A rain of penalties for track limit infringements was thrown to the TCR Eastern Europe competitors after the first race at the Hungaroring.
Even the winner Dušan Borkovič had 12 seconds added to his elapsed time, and yet this did not deprive him of his seventh victory, because Milovan Vesnić and Jáchym Galáš who had taken the chequered flag in second and third positions respectively were penalised as well. Vesnić was given 32 seconds and dropped to seventh, while the six seconds imposed on Galáš meant that he advanced from third to second.
Sandro Soubek, who had finished the race in fourth position, was demoted to tenth by an addition of 47 seconds, and so Tomáš Korený and Łukasz Stolarczyk who had crossed the line in fifth and ninth positions were promoted to third and fifth having been penalised by 2 seconds only.
The amended results meant that Galáš has reduced to six points his gap in the standings from the second-placed Vesnić.
The second race of the weekend is scheduled for 12:20 CET on Sunday; live streaming at www.tcr-series.com.
