Nicola Baldan ready to defend TCR Italy title

Nicola Baldan will return to the TCR Italy championship with the aim of defending the title he won in 2017. Baldan will stay with the team Pit Lane Competizioni, but he will switch from last year’s SEAT León to a Hyundai i30 N.

“I’m over the moon and I can’t wait for the start of the season. The Hyundai is the best option I could dream of; on top if this I know the team well and I’m confident that together we can perform on top, like in the two previous seasons. We will test the car before the opening event and this will help us to get to know it,” said Baldan who has the ambition to be the first driver to win a second TCR Italy title, and with different brands.

“I was impressed when I visited the Hyundai Motorsport and met engineer Andrea Adamo. I wish I can become a regular member of the Hyundai family. My aim is to grow up with them and reach new goals. TCR Italy is growing and to stay ahead you must have the best possible package. I would like to take part in the TCR Europe series too, but for the time being I’m focused on the Italian championship.”
