New TCR Chinese Taipei series to kick off next month

WSC Group signed a licensing agreement with AAI Motorsports for the organisation of a TCR Chinese Taipei Series that will kick off at the end of next month.

The calendar for the inaugural season includes four race meetings, all of them hosted by Taiwan’s only FIA-certified racetrack, the 3.5-km Lihpao Racing Park in Taichung City.

WSC President Marcello Lotti commented: “We are very pleased to welcome the new TCR Chinese Taipei series to our global family. It’s a further addition to our never-ending list of sanctioned events that cover all five continents. We thank AAI Motorsports for their interest in the TCR category and wish them success in establishing their new series.”

AAI owner Junsan Chen said: “After starting my career as a racing driver, owning a racing team and organizing racing events, the opportunity to join the TCR family and to promote TCR Chinese Taipei sets a new venture and marks a new chapter for myself and AAI. I believe the newly developed FIA circuit in Taiwan will be a perfect venue to thrive and establish TCR Chinese Taipei to its fullest.”
