The new JAS Motorsport-built Honda Civic Type R TCR has completed its first test today.
The car ran at Cervesina’s Autodromo Tazio Nuvolari driven by Roberto Colciago, the reigning TCR Italy champion and a current title-contender in the TCR International Series.
The new Civic will undergo a thorough testing programme before the first cars are delivered to customers.
Colciago said:“It was great to get a first taste of the new Honda Civic Type R TCR. As this was only a first run it’s too early to say much about the car, but the impression is that it feels well-balanced, the engine is responsive and the gearbox and other major areas like the aero package, are improved compared to the previous model that was itself a multiple championship-winner. Anybody who races this car next year is going to have a very competitive package.”
JAS is building an initial batch of 25 cars, based on the latest-specification of the Civic Type R production vehicle, and will deliver the first ones to customers between January and May 2018.
