The TCR Italy championship resumes at Mugello for rounds 7 and 8, with Salvatore Tavano (Scuderia del Girasole, CUPRA Leon Competición) on top of the standings with a 19-point lead. Tavano is the only one so far who won two races, while other four drivers have won one race each, beginning with Niels Langeveld (Target Competition, Hyundai Elantra N), the winner of the opening race at Monza who is currently placed second.
In third and fourth positions are Kevin Ceccon (Aggressive Team Italia, Hyundai Elantra N) and Ruben Volt (ALM Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R) with gaps of 44 and 55 points respectively. Both Ceccon and Volt are still chasing their first victory.
The other winners were Michele Imberti (CRM Motorsport, Hyundai i30 N), victorious in the latest race at Misano who lies fifth in the standings, Carlo Tamburini (MM Motorsport, Honda Civic Type R) and Rubén Volt (RC2 Junior Team, Audi RS 3 LMS). The latter rejoins at Mugello after having won at Imola and then skipped the Misano event.
