Francisco Mora made up from yesterday’s disappointment by claiming a dominant victory in TCR Ibérico’s second race at Vila Real.
The Veloso Motorsport driver started from the pole and took the lead; he was later passed by the Audi R8 GT that won the overall classification, but left the rest of the TCR field behind.
Robin Vaks and Race 1 winner Edgár Florindo had a close battle throughout the race for the other podium places; eventually Florindo made a small mistake and lost contact from the Estonian youngster.
Gustavo Moura and Mattias Vahtel were fighting for the fourth place, until Moura stopped along the track on lap 6 with a technical issue.
These results meant that Mora’s leading margin in the standings was stretched to nine points over Vaks and 21 over Vahtel.
The TCR Ibérico will resume at Barcelona on 20/22 September.
