Newly formed Canada-based team Montreal Motorsport Group will run two Honda Civic Type R FL5 cars in the 2024 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.
The team owned by Nick Wittmer, Benjamin Distaulo, Eric Côté and Sabrina D'Amico is ready to take on the challenge for their inaugural season debut into the North America endurance series.
"Each team member is thrilled to undertake this new project. Preparation has already
begun for what is coming our way in just a short amount of time. The years and the level of experience of each individual crew member promise two competitive MMG Honda cars," explains Benjamin Distaulo, Team Manager and Co-Owner.
The team signed Karl Wittmer, Daijiro Yoshihara, Louis-Philippe Montour and Bryan Ortiz to drive the two Honda cars.
Canadian Touring Car Champion and multiple IMSA TCR race winner Wittmer will share the #93 civic with Yoshihara, with the Japanese driver facing his first season of professional road racing after one season in TC America.
The #6 civic will be driven by Montour, a race winner and title contender in the Canadian SCCC, and Puerto Rican native Ortiz, who raced a Hyundai Elantra N for van der Steur Racing in the 2023 IMSA series.
