Norway-based Møller Bil Motorsport claimed its maiden victory of the season in the TCR class of the VLN, in the 41. Müsterlandpokal 4-hour race that concluded the endurance series on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Kenneth Østvold, Håkon Schjærin and Atle Gulbrandsen drove their Audi RS 3 LMS to a triumphant victory after a close battle with the Max Kruse Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI shared by Andreas Gülden and Jasmin Preisig. The latter duo lost time during one of the pit stops when their Golf caught fire, but then recovered and at the end of the four hours they crossed the finishing line only nine tenths of a second behind the winners.
The two TCR cars were classified 29th and 30th overall out of 163 starters.
The third car in the class was the Mathilda Racing CUPRA of Matthias Wasel, Frederic Yerly and Matthias Schläppi that had won five of the series’ previous rounds; however this time they were forced to retire with a gearbox issue with only two laps to go.
