Malaysian youngster Mitchell Cheah will make a second one-off appearance in the WTCR, this weekend at Aragón, replacing Nicky Catsburg in one of the Engstler Motorsport-run Hyundai i30 N cars.
Cheah made his WTCR debut last year in his home event at Sepang. During the current season he had been already called him by the German team to join for the TCR Germany event at the Red Bull Ring, to replace Nico Gruber who stepped him for Catsburg in the WTCR event at the Hungaoring.
In Austria, Cheah proved competitive, claiming the pole position and finishing second in the first race.
“I want to do my best for the team in Aragón and score as many points as possible. I’ve been racing with Engstler Motorsport for the past three years and first competed with the Hyundai i30 N in Sepang last year, which was probably the best experience in my career. I will try to put up a fight against all these world-class drivers,” said Cheah.
