TCR regulars Mitchell Cheah and Douglas Khoo will make their first WTCR appearance on the occasion of their home event at Sepang International Circuit in December.
Supported by the SIC programme for developing Malaysia’s young drivers, Cheah was runner up in last year’s TCR Asia and is currently taking part in the ADAC TCR Germany at the wheel of a Team Engstler Volkswagen Golf GTI, the same car he will drive at Sepang.
Khoo and his Viper Niza Racing joined TCR competition from the very start, back in 2015. Since then, Khoo has raced the team's CUPRA in the TCR International Series, TCR Asia, TCR Thailand and TCR Malaysia.
At Sepang, Malaysian MotoGP rider Hafizh Syahrin will also make his car racing debut, teaming up with Cheah in a second Golf GTI car run by Team Engstler.
