Milovan Vesnić claimed the pole position at the Slovakia Ring for the second event of the TCR Eastern Europe championship. At the wheel of his Audi RS 3 LMS, the Serbian posted the fastest lap time of 2:12.209 in the last third of the 30-minute session.
The current championship leader Tomáš Pekař qualified second in the Carpek Service CUPRA, as he was 0.265 slower than Vesnić, while Michal Makeš from the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team will start from P3 in his CUPRA.
Petr Čížek in the Fulinrace Academy CUPRA Leon Competición will start alongside Makeš, which promises a nice fight between the two Czech drivers that form the second row of the grid for Race 1.
Miro Horňák, one of the newcomers to the series, finished an outstanding fifth behind the wheel of the Horňák-Aditis Audi RS3 LMS in a convincing debut for the experienced Slovak driver at his home track.
The first race will be streamed live today at www.tcr-series.com; 12:15 local time (CEST).
