After an impressive debut season in 2020, when he won the final round and ended the year runner up TCR UK, Irish teenager Max Hart will return to the grid in 2021 driving one of Maximum Motorsport’s recently acquired Hyundai i30 N cars.
The 19-year-old from County Wicklow is aiming to use the experience gained last season: “Having previously driven single-seaters, I was impressed with how a TCR car felt as soon as I drove one for the first-time last year. I really enjoyed last season, so I’m very pleased to sign up for 2021 especially as I’ll be driving a Hyundai i30N, a car that has proved extremely competitive all over the world. I’m intending to put my experience in 2020 to good use and will be spending as much time as I can on a simulator over the coming months to make sure I’m ready for the start of the season. I feel more confident this time around, so my focus is firmly on challenging for this year’s title. And with all the changes taking place, it looks like I’m joining TCR UK at an exciting time. I can’t wait to get started!”
Championship Manager Stewart Lines was delighted that Max signed up for the season: “It’s always great to welcome new drivers onto our grids, especially one as talented as Max. He gave us a taste of what he could do last year, so he’s definitely going to be one to watch. We hope that other up-and-coming youngsters will see the opportunities on offer this season and will join us as we start a brand-new era for TCR UK.”
