With a double victory at Magione’s Autodromo dell’Umbria, Mauro Guastamacchia secured the title in the Coppa Italia Turismo at the wheel of the Aggressive Team Italia Hyundai i30 N.
Guastamacchia began the weekend by setting the pole position, beating Marco Butti’s Élite Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI DSG by 75 thousandths of a second. He then claimed a lights-to-flag victory in the first race, with Butti third overall and second in TCR, and Federico Borrett completing the class podium on his first appearance in a CUPRA run by Lema Racing.
Despite starting from P4 on the grid, Guastamacchia encored in the second race, taking the lead from Butti in the early stages and never looking back. Butti and Borrett were second and third in the class once again, as they finished second and fifth overall.
The Coppa Italia finale will be at Monza, 2/3 October.
