The alternation between Mathilda Racing and Max Kruse Racing on top of the VLN’s TCR class, continued in the series’ seventh round that took place Saturday on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
Victory in the 59. ADAC Reinoldus-Langstreckenrennen went to the Mathilda Racing CUPRA driven by Matthias Wasel, Fredric Yerly and Roland Schmid who completed 23 laps to finish in 25th position overall.
It was a close race with the Max Kruse Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI of Loris Prattes and Jasmin Preisig that crossed the finishing line only 19.5 seconds behind after four hours of racing. In the second part of the race Prattes and Preising were joined by Benjamin Leuchter after the sister car he shared with Andreas Gülden retired on lap 14 with a technical issue. Leuchter and Gülden had won the series’ previous event.
Karl Brinker and Timo Hochwind provided the icing on the cake for Mathilda Racing, as they drove their CUPRA to complete the podium in third position, with a gap of three minutes-24 seconds.
The VLN will resume with round 8 on October 12th.
