Czech drivers Michal Makeš and Tomáš Pekař will face each other in the final shootout for the TCR Eastern Europe title on their home ground at Brno.
Makeš retook the leadership of the standings, ousting Pekař in the previous event at the Slovakiaring. With Pekař forced to miss the first race due to a technical failure, a fourth place propelled Makeš to the top. He then extended his advantage to 25 points when inherited the victory in the second race after the penalty inflicted to Sebastian Steibel. However, as drivers need to drop two results, Makeš' actual advantage is of eight points, as for now he has to drop 20 points against Pekař's three. With 55 points on offer at Brno, nobody else can aim for the title, while Carol Wittke, Bartosz Groszek and Steibel will fight for the third position, as they are covered by only eight points.
Three newcomers join the field. The 20-year-old Czech Petr Semarád will take over the Lema Racing CUPRA that was driven by Giacomo Ghermandi until he switched to a Leon Competición. Semarád won the 2016 ESET Race Star talent competition and raced in F4 before making a successfull switch to rally, becoming the youngest winner ever of the Czech Rally Championship.
Hungary's Gergő Báldi is the second SIM racer to join the series after Groszek. Runner up in the 2017 eSports WTCC, Báldi won the title in the 2019 and 2020 eSports WTCR. He will be at the wheel of a M1RA Hyundai i30 N.
The last newcomer is Fraňo Dubreta from Montenegro in a CUPRA run by AMSK Kotor.
