Henry Ho continued the MacPro Racing winning streak in TCR China’s sprint races. In Race 1 at Ningbo International Speedpark, the Macanese driver claimed the fifth consecutive victory for the Honda Civic #88, beating the CUS Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI of Zhu Zhen Yu.
Pole sitter Alex Hui took the lead at the start in the TeamWork Motorsport Golf GTI, followed by Ho and the second MacPro Racing Honda of Kevin Tse. On lap 4, Zhu overtook Tse for third and then both Ho and Zhu overtook Hui, moving up to first and second respectively.
Halfway through the race, the leading pack was formed by six cars, with Ho, Zhu, Hui and Tse closely chased by Eric Lam’s Song Veng Racing Golf GTI and Paul Poon’s TeamWork Audi RS3 LMS.
On lap 5, Hui made a mistake and dropped two places, behind Tse and Lam; he soon retook fourth position by overtaking Lam on lap 6 and then passed Tse for third on lap 8.
In the meantime, Ho was able to build a small margin ahead of Zhu and went to claim his second victory of the season; Hui closed the gap from Zhu, but not enough to try an overtaking move.
In the championship standings, the MacPro Racing Honda #88 leads by ten points over the TeamWork Motorsport Volkswagen #11.
