The Macau Guia Race will award the TCR China title to the driver of a Chinese car.
Ma Qing Hua is the current leader of the standings in a Shell Teamwork Lynk & Co 03, but he is chased by one of Macau's local heroes: Rodolfo Ávila in the MG Xpower MG 6.
In the previous event at Jiangsu, the MG cars dominated the field and Ávila was able to reduce its gap in the standings to eight points only.
Besides coping with the tricky streets of the Guia circuit, the two contenders have to face a field of 32 other drivers. The COVID-19 pandemic has made impossible to attract the usual international participation, and so the only guest star is the former World Champion Rob Huff who has joined the MG team in an attempt to claim his tenth victory at Macau.
The rest of the field is formed by drivers from Macau, Hong Kong and Mainland China and includes 2018 and 2019 TCR China champions Sunny Wong (Shell Teamwork, Lynk & Co 03) and Huang Chuhan (Team NewFaster, Audi RS 3 LMS), and Ávila's teammate Zhang Zhen Dong who is currently placed fourth in the championship's standings.
