TCR International Series racer Sergey Afanasiev and 2015 Russia Circuit Racing champion Aleksey Dudukalo recently joined Moscow Spartak football players Andrey Rebrov, Roman Shirokov and Zé Luis for a working day at a Lukoil petrol station.
The event was part of the ‘We Are One Team’ project, in which athletes supported by Lukoil experience the role of the company’s employees, showing that staff and famous athletes are part of the same team.
First the five sportsmen began unloading a tanker into the petrol reservoir and performing quality checks; later, Afanasiev showed his SEAT Léon racing car to the football players and Spartak’s goalkeeper Rebrov topped it up with the new biodegradable synthetic oil Genesis Armatech.
Finally the racing drivers and the football players attended the petrol station forecourt refuelling customers’ cars.
Afanasiev said: "We had a great day with the employees at the petrol station. I think it's a great idea, because it gives you a better understanding of how the company works. Next time I wouldn't mind experiencing working on an oilrig in one of the Lukoil oilfields!”
