The Romeo Ferraris engineering company has named Luca Filippi as their second driver for the 2021 campaign in the inaugural PURE ETCR series.
Filippi joins Stefano Coletti who had already been signed and shared with him the wheel of the Alfa Romeo Giulia ETCR by Romeo Ferraris during the latest ETCR official test sessions at Vallelunga.
The 35-year-old Italian had already raced in the Romeo Ferraris-built Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCR run by Team Mulsanne in last year’s WTCR.
Filippi said: "I have accepted with enthusiasm the opportunity to join Romeo Ferraris to compete in the PURE ETCR, a very innovative project in all respects. From a professional point of view, as a driver, it is very nice to share my experience in electric and touring-car racing with a constructor. I felt completely at ease working last year with Michela Cerruti, Mario Ferraris and the entire Romeo Ferraris staff. I am sure that we will continue that trend, and we are ready to take up a bigger and even more exciting challenge."
