After racing two Volkswagen Golf GTI cars in the 2020 TCR Denmark championship, LM Racing will switch to CUPRA Leon Competitición cars for the next season. The team has confirmed both his drivers, former F1 racer Jan Magnussen and Nicolai Sylvest who were classified fourth and third in the 2020 final standings respectively, with one race win apiece.
“I am very happy to stay with LM Racing for a second year. The team has very high ambitions, just like myself, and with the new CUPRA race cars, I have no doubts that we have everything to win. 2020 started with lots of challenges, but thanks to a fantastic effort from the whole team, we managed to find the momentum and end the season as winners of the teams’ championship, while I was in the fight for the driver championship all the way to the final race,” said Sylvest,
“Nicolai delivered a huge effort in the 2020 championship, and his performance was crucial for us to secure the team trophy. It was his first year in a front-wheel drive race car, and yet he finished on the podium in the championship. We had no doubts to keep the same team together for the season. With our strong crew of engineers and mechanics, Magnussen and Sylvest and two new CUPRA race cars, I am sure that we have laid down the basis to secure the championship in 2021,” said team principal Lars Mogensen.
