Kirill Ladygin claimed the pole position in the fourth event of the TCR Russia championship at Moscow Raceway.
The LADA Sport Rosneft’s driver completed a lap of 1:42.866 in Q2 with his LADA Vesta Sport and it was enough to grab the pole for Race 1 on Sunday morning. This was the second pole position of the season for Ladygin who is currently leading the standings by 11 points over Aleksey Dudukalo.
The reigning champion Dmitry Bragin qualified in second position, fifty-two hundredths of a second slower than Ladygin. At the wheel of his Hyundai i30 N the STC TAIF Motorsport’s driver finished Q1 also on P2.
Only the two of them were able to complete a lap in less than 1:43 in Q2. Bragin was followed by Ladygin’s teammate Mikhail Mityaev who had been the fastest in Q1, and Pavel Kalmanovich. Andrej Malsennikov qualified in fifth position with a lap of 1:43:303.
Dudukalo who improved to rank eighth in Q2 and so secured the pole position on the reversed grid for Race 2.
