LADA Sport Rosneft announced their participation in the WTCR season finale at Sochi on November 27/28.
The Russian team will field two LADA Vesta Sport cars in the hands of TCR Russia’s reigning champion and current points leader Kirill Ladygin and Mikhail Mityaev.
Vladislav Nezvankin, head of the LADA Sport Rosneft team said: “We are pleased with the opportunity to participate in the Russian event of the WTCR. Obviously, this is great news for both us and our fans! The spectators will have the opportunity to cheer for Russian pilots who will be driving Russian cars against the best Touring Car racers of the world. This participation will allow our drivers and the whole team to gain valuable experience and become even stronger.”
Ladygin added: “The last time I took part in a World Touring Car event was twelve years ago! So, I'm excited to get back. There are many unknown factors we will be facing. The Goodyear tyres that we have never tested and the fact that our cars will be much heavier than the others, which will affect speed on the straights. On our side we have the knowledge of the track, as we race this weekend in TCR Russia’s final event. We will do our best to please the fans and enjoy the WTCR weekend."
