LADA Sport ROSNEFT will expand to a three-car team for the 2018 TCR Russia. After competing last year with two LADA Vesta TCR cars driven by Kyril Ladygin and Vladimir Sheshenin, who won a total of five races in 2017 and have been both confirmed, the Russian manufacturer has entered a third Vesta for Mikhail Grachev a former race winner in the TCR International Series.
"I'm happy to be a part of the LADA Sport ROSNEFT family. This season is a challenge for us, but I am confident, because my international experience combined with the professionalism of the team will allow us to achieve excellent results. We are working to develop a truly competitive car that may race not only in Russia, but also in other TCR series," said Grachev.
The LADA Vesta TCR was allowed to race in 2017 with a temporary homologation form, but has just successfully completed the TCR homologation procedure.
LADA Sport Managing Director, Vladislav Nezvankin added: "This is our second season in the TCR Russia after our comeback to national motorsport. During the off-season, we have worked to improve; we have retained Ladygin and Sheshenin who formed the backbone of the team and have added Grachev who has international experience. In 2018 we have the task to consolidate the results of last year and to aim for winning races and the title.”
