A fifth place in Mantorp Park’s second race was enough for Johan Kristoffersson to clinch the TCR Scandinavia crown, after his rival in the title fight and reigning champion Robert Dahlgren retired due to a gearbox failure.
The race was won by Tobias Brink in the Brink Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS who converted his pole position on the top-ten reverse grid to a lights-to-flag victory. Brink sprinted at the start ahead of Mattias Andersson’s Honda Civic and Kristoffersson’s KMS Volkswagen Golf GTI. During the opening lap, Kristoffersson began to put the pressure on Andersson in the attempt to move up to second, but the Honda driver resisted several assaults and survived a few contacts.
Brink benefited from the situation to build a comfortable margin, while Dahlgren climbed to fourth after passing his teammate Daniel Haglöf.
On lap 5, Dahlgren was closing in on Kristoffersson, but all of a sudden he slowed down and retired in the pits; in the meantime, Kristoffersson was trying again to overtake Andersson, the two of them made contact and Haglöf overtook both for second.
Afterwards, with the title in his hands, Kristoffersson eased his pace and even conceded the fourth position to Andreas Wernersson in the final laps.
Brink claimed his second victory of the season, from Haglöf, Andersson, Wernersson and Kristoffersson.
Kristoffersson was crowned champion with 195 points, Dahlgren classified second with 182 and Haglöf completed the championship podium with 174 ahead of Wernersson (160).
