Klim Gavrilov claimed a second consecutive pole position in TCR Russia. Three weeks after Kazan Ring he topped the Qualifying again at the ADM Raceway. The point for the pole position helped Gavrilov to reduce his gap in the standings to 14 points from the leader Dmitry Bragin who will start Race 1 from the second spot of the grid.
Bragin set the fastest lap in Q1 halfway through the 20-minute session and demoted Ivan Lukashevich to second. Lukashevich had completed a lap of 1:32.486, but Bragin improved one minute later to 1:32.272. Later on Anton Badoev (1:32.745) and Pavel Kalmanovich (1:32.790) moved up into third and fourth positions. The other drivers who advanced to Q2 were Gavrilov, Andrej Maslennikov, Kirill Ladygin, Aleksey Dudukalo, Mikhail Grachev and Mikhail Mityaev.
At the beginning of Q2, Maslennikov posted a provisional fastest lap of 1:32.802, but Bragin went half-a-second faster and was clocked at 1:32.302, while Lukashevich (1:32.544) and Gavrilov (1:32.638) were placed second and third. However, in their second attempt they were both able to improve. Gavrilov’s 1:32.267 gave him the pole, while Lukashevich’s 1:32.352 placed him in third position ahead of Maslennikov (1:32.494).
The first race will start tomorrow at 12:10 local time (11:10 CET); live streaming at www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv.
