The TCR Asia Series returns into action after a six-week break for rounds 7 and 8 that will be held at Yeongam's Korean International Circuit.
After running together with TCR Thailand in the three previous events, TCR Asia competitors will share the track with their fellow colleagues of TCR Korea.
In this occasion, the series welcomes back the 2017 champion, Kantadhee Kusiri; the Thai driver, who won last year's title in a Team Engstler Golf GTI, will now drive a SEAT León entered by Viper Niza Racing.
Kusiri's fellow countrymen Chariya Nuya (Billionaire Boy Racing) and Nattachak Hanjitkasem (TBN MK ihere Racing) will also take part in the event with their Honda Civic cars, as well as Hong Kong's Alex Hui in a Golf GTI entered by E-Rain Motorsport. None of these four guest drivers is eligible to score points.
Liqui Moly Team Engstler's Mitchell Cheah and his Volkswagen Golf GTI will defend the leadership in the standings, though the Malaysian youngster has just a slim 3-point margin over the Maximum Racing Honda Civic of Lo Sze Ho. Cheah's teammate Luca Engstler is currently third, a further nine points adrift.
