Kågered Racing to field three VW cars in TCR Scandinavia

Micke Kågered Racing will return to TCR Scandinavia in 2020, fielding three Volkswagen Golf GTI cars for Emil Persson, Mikael Karlsson and a third driver yet to be named.

“This is a completely new challenge as I have never before raced a front-wheel driven car. It’s going to be awesome,” said Persson who has clinched the Swedish title in the 2018 and 2019 V8 Thunder Cars. “Of course, I want to win, but we need to be realistic as the opposition is very tough. The goal is to reach the top three and I think we can achieve that as we have a very good team.”

A former champion in the Formula 3 Nordic and Swedish championships, the 47-year old Karlsson returned to racing in 2019, finishing as runner up in the V8 Thunder Cars behind his teammate Persson.
During TCR Scandinavia’s last season, the team ran a single Golf GTI for Andreas Ahlberg who claimed two race wins on his way to finish fourth in the standings.
