Jessica Bäckman will be making an appearance this weekend at Anderstorp Raceway in an Audi RS 3 LMS run by Brink Motorsport, as she makes her return to the TCR Scandinavia championship after two years away.
The 23-year-old, who races in the WTCR with Target Competition in a Hyundai Elantra N TCR, will compete with an Audi for the first time, as she joins title contender Tobias Brink in the team’s second car – racing at the circuit where she scored her first podium in her home country on a one-off outing, then in one of Target’s Hyundai i30s.
Bäckman takes over the car which was driven by Kevin Engman last weekend at Gelleråsen Arena, which Engman drove to victory in the reversed grid third race.
Engman himself had replaced Hannes Morin, who left the team after the first two races.
“I am very happy to be back in Sweden again and this time I will get to try an Audi RS 3 LMS car for the first time,” said Backman. “It will be a big challenge considering the limited preparations, but a challenge that I look forward to.”
