JamSport Racing has confirmed that it will enter two Subaru Impreza WRX STi cars into the 2022 TCR UK championship.
The cars have both seen action in other TCR series, including those in Europe, Italy and most recently, Australia. During the winter, the Subaru cars will undergo a refurbishment, test and development programme.
Calling on its experience and successes gained in other campaigns, such as the Mini Challenge, Renault Clio Cup and BRSCC Fiesta Championships, JamSport Racing has gained extensive knowledge of how to make controlled specification cars perform at their best.
Furthering their understanding of what it takes to get the most out of a TCR platformed car, this year has seen members of the team engineer the Hyundai i30 N owned by Maximum Motorsport and driven by front-runner Max Hart.
JamSport Racing’s team principal Jamie Going is confident that the experience of running front-wheel-drive saloons will prove invaluable: “Having been involved with the TCR UK and seeing how it’s grown this season, I’m excited about next year, especially as we’ll be running a two-car team. One of the positives surrounding TCR competition is how the globally-established balance of performance regulations keep the competition on a level playing field, which in turn generates close racing. Added to this, the cars and running costs represent good value for money, which is another reason why we want to be involved.”
