British Renault Clio Cup race winner Jack Young will make his Touring Car debut in the TCR Europe Series at Barcelona next week. The 17-year-old from Belfast will be at the wheel of a Renault Mégane RS fielded by Vuković Motorsport.
“This is an immediate step-up up in performance from my Clio so I expect the learning curve to be steep,” Young commented. “But there was no way I was going to miss this opportunity to mix it up with the big boys in TCR Europe. My focus now is to get to know the new car and my new team as quickly as possible and I’m itching to get started.”
Young won the 2017 British Renault Clio Cup Junior Trophy in his maiden car racing season and in 2018 won the Clio Cup International Final at Paul Ricard. In the current season he is second in the British Clio Cup; he has scored two race wins, becoming the youngest ever winner in the series.
The Northern-Irish has tested the Mégane TCR yesterday at Hockenheim.
