TCR South America’s points leader Ignacio Montenegro completed his first test session at the wheel of the new Honda Civic Type R FL5 on the Cremona circuit, in Italy.
The Argentine youngster, who drives a Civic FK7 for Squadra Martino in the South American series, adapted himself quickly to the new car and was able to clock competitive lap times. During the test he was assisted by JAS Motorsport engineers and his fellow countryman and Honda’s TCR World Your driver Néstor Girolami.
“I’m very grateful to JAS Motorsport and ‘Bebu’ for inviting me to this test. Have been two very busy days, with plenty of work and meetings, that gave us great expectations for the future,” said Montenegro.
JAS Motorsport TCR Project Leader, Mads Fischer added: “Clearly, Ignacio is one of the most natural young talents in TCR competition worldwide. He did a very good job, and we are pleased that he is building a solid reputation as a member of the JAS family. We are looking forward to work with him even more in the next years.”
