Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing has named four drivers for its Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing Junior Driver: Marco Butti, Junui Park, Bradley Kent and Alex Ley.
The 17-year-old pair of Butti and Park will take part in the TCR Italy championship at the wheel of Hyundai Elantra N cars run by Target Competition. While Butti has already become a regular in TCR, racing in the European and Italian championships last year,
Park is facing his first season in Europe; in 2022 he claimed the title in South Korea’s single-make Avante N Cup and was selected for the opportunity to build a racing career in Europe.
Having emerged as race winners in TCR UK, Kent and Ley will return to the championship with the ambition of fighting for the title. Kent will drive a Hyundai Veloster N for Essex and Kent Motorsport, while Ley will race in a Hyundai i30 N for Daniel James Motorsport.
Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing Manager Andrea Cisotti said: “The support we can offer all our customers, and our chosen Junior Drivers in particular, is a vital part of the work of the Customer Racing department. The addition of Junior Team programme adds further to the support we can offer our customers racing in TCR series. From their experiences we know that while both TCR Italy and TCR UK are incredibly competitive, Hyundai Motorsport-built cars have the strength to contend for race wins and championship titles. The additional support we can offer as part of our Junior Teams initiative at the racetrack and throughout the season should provide the crucial boost to the drivers, not just for 2023, but in their future careers too.”
