It may be just a platonic honour, but the TCR Model of the Year is a much-coveted accolade, because it pinpoints the season's most successful car over the multitude of TCR-sanctioned races held across the world in 2019.
The WTCR's three final races in Sepang will be decisive in determining wich one between the Honda Civic Type R and last year's winner Audi RS 3 LMS will be declared the 2019 TCR Model of the Year.
The Honda has built up a 22-point lead over the Audi. A trifle compared to the total scored by both models that exceeds the 9000 points!
The Hyundai i30 N has already secured the third position ahead of the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the CUPRA that had won the inaugural Model of the Year title in 2017.
A total of 14 different models are classified in the Model of the Year table.
