Hesse and Coicaud with Hyundai Team Engstler
The Hyundai Team Engstler unveiled its programme for running two Hyundai i30 N cars in the ADAC TCR Germany championship for Théo Coicaud and Max Hesse.
Coicaud, 18-year old from France, was already part of the team in 2018; he started the season at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf GTI, but then switched to the Hyundai like his teammate Luca Engstler. His best result was a second place behind Engstler in Zandvoort’s Race 2 and eventually he ranked 12th in the championship’s classification.
Hesse, 17 from the Baden-Württemberg region, clinched the 2018 TCR Germany Rookie Trophy while racing an Audi RS 3 LMS for Prosport Performance. His best result was fourth in the first race at the Nürburgring.
Team manager Andreas Klinge commented. “We had been watching Max during the past year and he was one of our first picks for the news season, so I’m very pleased to welcome him in the team. Together with Théo he forms a very young and competitive pair that can help the team to fight for both the Drivers’ and Teams’ titles in 2019.”
