Macau’s Henry Ho Wai Kun claimed a lights-to-flag victory in the opening race of the TCR China championship at Zhuhai International Circuit.
Lo Sze Ho sat on pole position in the STARD-built Kia c’eed TCR, but stalled the engine at the start and dropped to the back of the field. Ho took the lead at the wheel of his MacPro Racing Honda Civic FK7, followed by Sunny Wong in the TeamWork Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI and Wang Hao in the NewFaster Team Audi RS3 LMS.
A few drivers made mistakes, such as Li Lin (LEO Racing VW Golf) who drove onto the gravel trap on lap 1, James Tang (TCR Racing Civic FK2) and Ho’s teammate Lam Ka Chun who both spun.
The top-three positions remained frozen for the whole race with Ho, Wong and Wang crossing the finishing line in the order. Malaysia’s Lai Wee Sing was classified fourth in the DRT Racing Golf GTI ahead of Lo Sze Ho (D Garage Kia) who managed to recover up to fifth setting the fastest lap of the race in the process.
The second race will take place on Sunday at 11:00 local time (05:00 CET); live streaming at www.tcr-series.com and www.tcr-series.tv.
