Eurico De Jesus wins behind the safety car

MacPro Racing’s Eurico De Jesus encored his co-driver Henry Ho yesterday’s victory at Zhuhai, winning a very turbulent second race at the wheel of his Honda Civic FK7.
At the start, Alex Hui stalled his TeamWork Motorsport Volkswagen Golf GTI that was second on the grid and pole sitter Wang Hao took the lead in his NewFaster Team Audi RS3 LMS.
During the first lap, De Jesus overtook Wang, while Li Lin (LEO Racing Golf) and Edmond Chan (D Garage Kia c’eed) moved up to third and fourth respectively. However, Chan spun and collected the Golf cars of Tian Li Ying (HE Racing) and Leong Ian Veng (Son Veng Racing). This prompted the safety car that circulated for two laps while the wrecked Kia was removed.
At the restart, De Jesus was leading from Li Lin, Kong Kin Chong (MacPro Racing Civic FK7), Terence Tse (TRC Racing Civic FK2) and the recovering Hui. Wang had dropped down to the back of the field following a drive through for jump start.
On lap 4, Li Lin took the lead from De Jesus and Hui overtook Kong for third. On the following lap, Hui passed Li Lin and moved up to second.
On lap 6, Wang had recovered to sixth, but his car tangled on the pit straight with Terence Tang’s Honda Civic FK2 (TRC Racing) and they crashed into the barriers. The safety car was deployed once again and led the field for three more laps until the chequered flag.
The finishing order was De Jesus, Hui, Li Lin, Kong, Tse and Carson Tang (NewFaster Racing Audi).
