HC Racing Division announced its participation in the 2020 TCR Italy Championship with an Audi RS 3 LMS DSG car.
The team recently founded by Alessio Canonico has signed Gaetano Nino Oliva to drive the German saloon. The 34-year-old Oliva is a rookie in Touring Car and with the front-wheel drive, as his previous racing experience is limited to the 2018 Italian Prototypes Championship and the occasional appearance in the Belgian Endurance Championship.
“I have driven the Audi TCR for the first time in a test at Vallelunga and had a very good feeling. It’s fun to drive and performs really well. The team did a very good job and I was able to post some quick lap times with both new and used tyres,” Oliva said.
Team principal Canonico added: “Our goal is winning the Rookie Trophy. Oliva has no experience in Touring Car, but he quickly adapted himself to the TCR driving style during the test. We are also planning to enter a second Audi car in the TCR DSG Italy series.”
