For the first time teams, and not drivers, were nominated for the Hawkers Fan Award, after the event at Singapore’s Marina Bay Street Circuit.
None of the drivers drew special attention to himself during the two races, that were among the less thrilling of the season. Therefore, the panel of jurors decided to nominate two teams that excelled during (and even before) the racing weekend.
WestCoast Racing received the nomination for the incredible effort performed by three of its mechanics who completely re-built Gianni Morbidelli’s car in two-and-a-half days.
Leopard Racing was nominated for the brilliant work done in preparing two cars that dominated the first two days of the event, despite never having competed here before.
The motivations for their nominations are:
WestCoast Racing – for rebuilding Morbideli’s car in a race against time
Leopard Racing – for dominating the first two days of the event, on their first visit here
