Twenty-one drivers took part in the TCR Scandinavia official test that took place today at Ring Knutstorp.
During the morning session, Daniel Haglöff clocked the fastest lap of 59.913 that was also the new track record for TCR cars, three tenths faster than the previous one set by Fredrik Ekblom last year. Haglöff was followed by the reigning champion Robert Dhalgren (59.945) and TCR rookie Philip Morin (1:00.053); all three of them were at the wheel of Cupra TCR cars run by the PWR Racing.
Fredrik Ekblom was the best of the rest, in the WestCoast Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI (1:00.190) followed by fellow VW-driver Johan Kristoffersson of Kristoffersson Motorsport (1:00.412). Micke Ohlsson of Brink Motorsport classified seventh and the best of the Audi RS3 LMS drivers (1:00.518).
During the session Experion Racing’s Albin Wärnelöw crashed his Golf GTI at Turn 4; he was taken to the hospital and released after medical checks; however he could not rejoin the test because his car was massively damaged.
In the afternoon session, Mattias Andersson completed a lap of 1:01.866 in his Honda Civic FK2 just before the rain began to pour preventing everybody else from going faster.
The TCR Scandinavia will kick off at Knutstorp on 4/5 May.
