The PWR Racing team came back in anger after the technical exclusion of its four Cupra cars from the TCR Scandinavia’s previous event, and made a clean sweep in today’s Qualifying at Rudskogen.
Daniel Haglöf claimed pole position on the Norwegian track with a lap of 1:26.493, beating his teammates Robert Dahlgren (1:26.851) and Philip Morin (1:27.155). The latter had been the fastest in Q2’s first run, but he was then demoted to third when his colleagues were able to improve on their second attempt.
Hugo Nerman was the best of the rest in the KMS Volkswagen Golf GTI, fourth fastest (1:27.229) ahead of the other Golf cars of WestCoast Racing’s Fredrik Ekblom (1:27.246) and his own teammate Johan Kristoffersson (1:27.274).
The PWR Racing trio had previously topped the Q1 segment of Qualifying, with Morin fastest (1:27.065) from Dahlgren (1:27.121), Haglöf (1:27.169) and Kristoffersson (1:27.329).
Mattias Andersson’s Honda Civic qualified in tenth position and will start from the pole position in Race 2, alongside Andreas Wernersson’s VW Golf.
The Qualifying points meant that Dahlgren retook the lead in the standings from Kristoffersson by three points.
The first race is scheduled for 13:00 CET on Sunday, with live streaming at www.tcr-series.tv.
