The Mathilda Racing pair of Andreas Gülden and Heiko Hammel concluded the VLN season in style with yet another TCR class victory. It was the fourth for the team in the endurance series on the Nordschleife during the current season.
In the 4-hour 43. DMV Müsterlandpokal, ninth and final round of the series, Gülden and Hammel completed 26 laps at the wheel of their Cupra and were classified 26th overall out of the 158 starters.
The Møller Bil Motorsport Audi RS3 LMS shared by the Norwegian trio of Håkon Schjærin, Atle Gulbrandsen and Kenneth Østvold was classified second, on the same lap of the winners, but nearly three minutes behind them.
The podium was completed by the FEV Racing Cupra of Benedikt Gentgen, Lukas Thiele and Martin Pischinger, one lap down, with the Mathilda Racing Volkswagen Golf GTI of Michael Paatz, Frederic Yerly and Matthias Wasel in fourth position.
The Hyundai i30 N of Manuel Lauck and Marc Basseng had set pole position in the class with a lap of 8:49.694, but finished the race in fifth position, three laps behind.
