After posting the fastest lap in yesterday’s first Practice, Norbert Michelisz encored in the second session. Not only did he clock the fastest time again at the wheel of his Honda Civic, but he even broke the 1:53 barrier with a lap of 1:52.860 that placed him on top, seven tenths cleared of the rest of the field.
Jean-Karl Vernay managed to place his Volkswagen Golf in second (1:53.596), ahead of Attila Tassi’s Honda Civic (1:53.781) and James Nash’s SEAT León (1:54.113). The latter was followed by his Craft-Bamboo teammates Daniel Lloyd (1:54.200) and Pepe Oriola (1:54.388).
The WestCoast Racing of Gianni Morbidelli (1:54.594) and Giacomo Altoè (1:54.673) ranked 7th and 8th with Jens Reno Møller (1:54.912) in 9th, however the Danish driver was summoned to see the Stewards for repeatedly trespassing the track limits.
Mat’o Homola rounded off the top ten in the fastest Opel Astra ahead of Stian Paulsen’s SEAT and Milovan Vesnić in the fastest Audi RS3 LMS. Dušan Borković placed the fastest Alfa Romeo Giulietta in 13th.
Both Stefano Comini and Roberto Colciago struggled and only posted the 19th and 21st fastest lap respectively. Ferenc Ficza sat for the first time in the Zengő Motorsport KIA cee’d, however he stopped after a few hundred metres with a broken throttle cable, which prompted the red flag.
