Franco Girolami will be fighting for a third consecutive title, now returning to the TCR Europe series after winning the TCR Italy championship last year. The Argentine will compete with TCR Spain champion team Monlau Motorsport at the wheel of a new 2024-specification CUPRA Leon VZ.
Girolami won the 2022 TCR Europe series title with Comtoyou Racing in an Audi RS 3 LMS, before moving on to win the 2023 TCR Italy title in an Aikoa Racing-run Audi. He’ll now get the opportunity to fight for the European drivers’ trophy again with CUPRA’s latest offering when the new season starts at Vallelunga on April 19-21.
Girolami will pair up with Macedonian driver Viktor Davidovski, who was his team-mate in the 2021 and 2022 TCR Europe seasons and also comes off his best season in TCR Europe, finishing fourth in the drivers’ standings last year with a podium at Monza as his season’s highlight.
