Essex and Kent Motorsport will return to the TCR UK Championship this year with a three-car operation. In addition to the two Hyundai i30N cars it campaigned in 2021, the team will add a Hyundai Veloster N to its line-up.
The team will see Lewis Kent defend his second driver’s title; the reigning champion is set to campaign the newly acquired Veloster N.
Younger brother Bradley will also be back to contest his second full season in the championship at the wheel of the same Hyundai i30 N he raced in 2021.
The team’s third entry will be driven by series debutant Scott Sumpton, who moves up to TCR UK after two years of competition in the Junior Saloon Car Championship.
“The whole team looking forward to the season ahead as we expand to a three-car team. I’m really excited about the new challenge with the Veloster. As it’s the only one currently competing in Europe, it will be interesting to see the attention it gets,” Lewis Kent said.
