Three weeks after its first visit to Uruguay, the TCR South America series returns into action in the country for its fourth event at El Pinar's Autódromo Víctor Borrat Fabini.
The field underwent a few reshuffles. Ayrton Chorme and Fabio Casagrande have swapped cars and teams. Chorme will drive an Alfa Romeo Giulietta for PropCar Racing, while Casagrande will take over the Squadra Martino Honda Civic Fk2. Local driver Cyro Fontes, who raced for Squadra Martino at Rivera, joined Pablo Otero at PMO Motorsport for driving the Lynk & Co 03 that won the previous event's first race with Santiago Urrutia, while José Manuel Sapag will rejoin Squadra Martino after skipping Rivera.
Uruguayan Diego Martínez will make his first appearance in the championship, joining PropCar Racing in the team's second Giulietta.
The standings are led by Pepe Oriola (W2 Racing, Honda Civic Fk7) who has a margin of 25 points over Rodrigo Baptista (Cobra Racing, Audi RS 3 LMS), while Oriola's teammate Raphael Reis lies in third position 14 further points adrift.
